CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOOKS FOR CHILDREN AND SUNDAY SCHOOL
TEACHERS
The
Bookmark is now carrying a series of books which I would like to recommend
to those
searching for material suitable for Christian Science Sunday
School students and teachers.
These books were written or compiled
by Margaret Marshall, and the Bookmark offers
this background information:
Margaret
Marshall is a life-long Christian Scientist. Upon graduating from
college with a
degree in elementary education, she found herself immediately
teaching Sunday School.
Her experience in Sunday School eventually
included all the classes, pre-kindergarten
through the college level.
As fellow teachers observed the materials that she generated for
her
classes, requests were made for copies. It was then that the idea
for the Resource
Notebook was born.
A few years later, when a granddaughter
appeared, the Let’s Learn About series came into
being. Its purpose
was to give children an understanding of the Bible stories in the
light of
Christian Science. Upon completion of the series, she began
to search early Christian
Science Sentinels that had articles geared
to children. These were articles that showed
how children used Christian
Science in their daily lives. The outcome was the 100 Story
Collection.
It contains contemporary stories and engaging illustrations that appeal
to the
interests of today’s children. To read about her books in detail
